Television Safety: Too much telly kills the family tree

A child is watching the television. Children’s cartoons are on. The child is sitting close to the television set.

Voiceover Man:
We all know we shouldn’t let our children watch too much television. A little is a great form of escapism for them and statistics show it is beneficial. Too much and we’re in danger of having a generation of telly-hypnotic children. There are simple steps you can follow to make sure your child is safe:

#1: Only let them watch the telly between 4pm-6pm. Never in the morning and never any later.

#2: Make sure there are no pornographic DVDs or Adult channels unlocked whilst they’re watching the telly. The recently discovered e-foreskin:sti virus that affects new flat-screen televisions, dvd players and digital tv boxes can detect the presence of adult material and switch it on.

#3: Make sure the programmes you’re letting them watch don’t have homosexual undertones. We don’t want to produce a generation of telly-hypnotised poo-pushers or fish-lickers. Do we!

Follow these simple rules and your child we grow up a normal healthy child. They won’t be obsessed by the telly until they get married and they won’t be gay.

Telly safety. It’s more than just preventing square-eyes. You want proper grandchildren, don’t you?

These are very crude steps to avoid adverse effects on children. Although 4-6 is not exactly very significant, what is significant is that 2 hrs of tv is more than enough. Parents should moderate what the child views, and should make their develop interstin educational programs on NatGeo and Discovery channels. Cartoons can also come in handy.
